Ben Campbell, Western Sector US Bocce President, and John Lopez went undefeated and won the annual Marin Bocce Federation Doubles Tournament after a decade of attempts. Congratulations, guys! This year, 3 non-Marin teams took the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Marin is a long time US Bocce Club that’s immediately north of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Rafael, a suburb of San Francisco, CA.
Their buddy and former Western Sector President, Jessica Libien, stopped by to say HI and wish them good luck. As of this summer, Jess is back on the board of directors as a populous director.
“Me and my big bro John Lopez finally won the men’s doubles bocce tournament at Marin Bocce Federation in San Rafael. The 10 years we been going to this we always came up short and this year we finally pulled it off.” Ben continues, “John lagged his ass off, proud of this guy. Always a blast playing with him, we just click so well.”
“It was great seeing Jessica Libien and was awesome of her to watch us play a couple games. We did this for you! … and of course it was great seeing everyone and enjoying their company.”
John gives props to the other medalists, “Congrats to Skeekos (Don & Dennis) talking 2nd and Rat Pack (Guman & Damario) taking 3rd.” “A big thanks to my brotha Benny ‘Deadeye’ who killed it all day as usual, always great playing with you. Finally got that monkey off our backs bro.”
One can see that the bonds made through bocce run deep in Northern California.
